Summary: Learn what you can do on Sunday that will make your week more productive.
We all have them: those busy weeks when we feel like we just can’t get on top of everything that we intended to do that week. When we’re at our most busy, often taking care of ourselves, and our own mental and physical health falls to the wayside. To help you stay on top of things during your week and fit in taking care of yourself, here are five things you can do on Sunday to set yourself up for a great week:
- What are your intentions for the week? Before you can start planning your week and what you’re going to do, you need to know what you want to accomplish that week. Do you want to fit in 3 workout classes? Do you want to bring your own lunch to work every day or make dinner at home each night? Do you want to take time to meditate or journal in the morning? Write these things down first so you know what you want the outcome of your week to be.
- Take a look at your schedule. Now is the time to sit down and look at your schedule for the week and see what you have coming up. Do you have a big work project this week that’s going to make an after-work exercise class too difficult? Do you need to be in early this week and will need to pack breakfast and lunch for the day? Figure out what’s happening so you aren’t surprised and overwhelmed by your schedule.
- Go to the grocery store. Stocking up your fridge with plenty of good choices will make eating well throughout the week so much easier. Take this a step forward and make your lunches or prep your dinners ahead of time so that you free up a lot of time during the week.
- Clean up an area of your home. If you have a busy week ahead you know you’re not going to be spending any extra time cleaning. Our home environment can have a huge effect on our stress levels and mental health, so taking a few minutes during the weekend to tidy things up will create a better environment to come home to.
- Set out what you need for Monday the night before. Start your week off on a great foot with a smooth Monday morning. Setting out what you need and removing any extra tasks or choices will make for a better morning and a better start to the week. Consider doing this each night during the week as well!
