Police arrested a high school substitute teacher after she performed a cartwheel in front on a choir class without any underwear on. Thirty-four-year-old Lacey Sponsler exposed herself to the class at Pawhuska High School in Pawhuska, a town north of Tulsa.
According to the report, Sponsler was wearing a long dress with no underwear on, “which caused her to expose herself to the students in this class. This act was captured by a student on their cell phone.”
The report states that Sponsler performed the cartwheel in the choir room of the Junior High, causing her dress to flip up and expose her rear. An officer who viewed the video added, “I further noticed that the Defendant was not wearing any type of underwear.”
One 17-year-old female student that saw that incident told police that Sponsler “said she was not wearing underwear before performing the cartwheel,” which exposed her “bare vagina.” The student detailed how she saw Sponsler’s “vagina open and close, as her legs were in the air.” She also told police that Sponsler “had been talking about using drugs” and how she “thought fourteen year olds boys were like men.”
Sponsler denied doing the cartwheel to police until they informed her that the act had been caught on Snapchat video. Her responded that she “did not remember performing a cartwheel or exposing her vagina and buttocks.” She claims she was “just dancing with the students” and “trying to be a cool teacher.”
Sponsler has a history of drug use. She pleaded guilty in 2008 to marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication. She was given a two-year deferred sentence, a $1100 fine, and 100 hours of community service. A judge ruled in December 2009 that Sponsler violated her probation, in part because she was questioned by police during an investigation into cooking meth. She claimed she was present in the suspect’s home when he was cooking meth, saying he was “careless when he cooks.”
Just a few years later in 2011, she pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and marijuana in the presence of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given a three-year deferred sentence. Prosecutors dropped a burglary charge against her as part of the plea deal.
