Summary: The Baywatch actress and Prince muse filed for a permanent restraining order from a man who thinks they’re engaged.
Carmen Electra is well-known for her ice blue eyes and fabulous figure, and her beauty has attracted men all over the world. Unfortunately, some of them are creeps, and one of them has crossed the line.
According to The Daily Mail, one of her fans has gone so cuckoo that he actually believes that the two of them are engaged. His obsession with her has veered into dangerous territory, prompting the actress to file a permanent restraining order.
Electra, 45, was already granted a temporary restraining order against Daniel LaBlanc after he had shown up at her house unannounced in June. The temp order expired July 7th, and she is asking to keep LaBlanc 100 yards away for good.
When LaBlanc had creepily appeared at Electra’s doorstep in June, it was because he believed the two of them were engaged to marry. After spotting him lingering outside, Electra called the Los Angeles Police Department, and they took LaBlanc away to perform a mental evaluation.
LaBlanc is one of many scares Electra has experienced from stalkers. According to Celebrity Insider, she is so worried about these threats that the single woman refuses to join any dating apps because of fear they’ll gain access to her.
And this all makes sense considering how often celebrities are stalked by doting weirdos. Back in March, Taylor Swift was targetted by 29-year-old Mohammed Jaffar, who repeatedly called her and showed up at her New York apartment.
Also, earlier this year, Kris Jenner’s stalker was arrested, and Sandra Bullock’s stalker was sentenced to probation for breaking into her home in 2014.
While there are also other cases of celebrity stalking, regular people are at risk as well. The Herald Sun said that one in five women and one in 20 men will have experienced stalking at least once in their lifetime.
“Stalkers get stuck in their thinking. Let’s say they have a relationship breakup or their boss does something they don’t like, most people would get upset, think about it and gradually work out ways to think about what has happened less and to change how they think about it so it doesn’t affect them as much,” Dr. Troy McEwan, a senior lecturer in clinical and forensic psychology at Swinburne University, said. “Stalkers don’t do that.”
Electra’s star rose during the 1990s after she modeled for Playboy. Her sexy look and fan base led to her first television role in the hit TV show, Baywatch, where she co-starred with Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff. That job led to numerous other acting gigs.
In addition to acting and modeling, Electra sings. She famously was given the name “Carmen Electra” by Prince, who viewed her as a muse. Her real name is Tara Leigh Patrick.
The Ohio-born bombshell has been married twice before–once to Dennis Rodman and once to musician Dave Navarro. Given her penchant for bad boy celebs, her stalker didn’t a chance.
