Summary: A New York judge blocked the sale of a letter from Tupac to Madonna that was expected to earn almost $400,000.

Madonna successfully blocked a website from selling one of her old letters, but now an ex-lover claims he wants to auction her old panties online!

Peter Shue dated Madonna in 1994, according to TMZ, and now the ex is hoping to get some money out of their brief love affair. He told the publication that he plans on selling a pair of her old panties, and despite her legal team, he said he has the right to because she gifted them to him.

Shue is making the bold sale even after a judge blocked another seller from auctioning Madonna’s other personal items, specifically a letter from Tupac Shukar. Shue said that his case was different because he owns the panties, and he said that if Madonna wants them back then she can pay up.

The Tupac Shukar letter auction, on the other hand, was blocked because the seller had allegedly stolen from Madonna without her knowledge.

On July 18, a New York judge blocked website Gotta Have Rock and Roll and art collector Darlene Lutz from selling an intimate letter from Tupac Shukar to Madonna. The website and Lutz had called Madonna’s legal action “baseless.”

“Madonna and her legal army have taken what we believe to be a completely baseless and meritless action to temporarily halt the sale of Ms. Lutz’s legal property. We believe that her intent is nothing more than to besmirch the good reputations of the auction house and Ms. Lutz. Madonna’s allegations will be vigorously challenged and refuted in a court of law in due course,” Gotta Have Rock and Roll and Lutz said.

However, a judge agreed with Madonna, 58, who had filed an emergency court order. In her legal documents, Madonna said she was unaware the items were not in her possession and she went so far as to claim Lutz had stolen them from her.

“It seems obvious that Defendant Lutz betrayed my trust in an outrageous effort to obtain my possessions without my knowledge or consent,” Madonna said to the court.

The Tupac letter in question was a handwritten breakup note written from prison in New York. Shakur said that he could no longer be in a relationship with Madonna because she was white and their love would hurt his rapper image. The letter was expected to fetch over $400,000.

“For you to be seen with a black man wouldn’t in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting,” Tupac, then 23, wrote.

The letter was penned in 1995 and was written at the height of both of their careers. After he was released from prison, Shakur was shot 18 months later.

A full hearing for the auction case will occur on September 6 and will be presided over by Judge Gerald Lebovits.
