Usher may make you wanna leave the one you’re with, but his sexiness comes with a price. That’s at least according to a new multi-million dollar lawsuit filed by a woman worried he had exposed her to herpes.
The woman said that she had sex and oral sex with the married singer on April 16 at his home in Atlanta. During this encounter, they had used a condom. However, they had unprotected sex days later in a New Orleans hotel room, and she said that she worried that he had exposed her to herpes. According to her lawsuit obtained by TMZ, she has not tested positive for the STD but she is suing because of the possible exposure.
Earlier this year, Usher settled a lawsuit with a celebrity stylist who said that she and he had a one-month affair and during that time, he had given her herpes. The first woman said that Usher did not disclose he had the STD and that he had even lied when she had asked him about it at first.
Usher settled the first lawsuit for over $1 million, and his second possible victim wants way more than that. According to TMZ, his new lover wants $12.6 million in damages for negligence, battery and emotional distress. She said that Usher, 38, had not told her about his disease and that she only learned of it from reading the news about the first lawsuit.
This second lawsuit may be the beginning of many for Usher, who is also the music mentor of teen sensation Justin Bieber. According to BET, celebrity attorney Lisa Bloom is “seemingly recruiting women who claim they were exposed to the sexually transmitted infection by the R&B icon.”
On Twitter, Bloom wrote that Usher’s former lovers are reaching out to her for help.
“How much unprotected sex did Usher have after his herpes diagnosis? Women are reaching out to me. How dare he endanger women’s health?” Bloom tweeted.
Bloom also said that it is a violation of criminal law to have unprotected sex without disclosing one’s STD status. According to the Center for Disease Control, one out of every six Americans aged 14 to 49 are living with genital herpes.
Usher’s first wife Tameka Foster addressed her ex’s scandal on Instagram. Captioned underneath a meme that said “Unf-ckable: When you’re truly at peace and in touch with yourself & nothing anyone says or does bothers you and no negativity can touch you” she wrote:
“Do not come on my page discussing rumors or adult people that have NOTHING to do with me. I have been divorced 8 years… Some issues are not my business… ex husbands, ex friends, bitch-maids, snakes, hoes, characters, etc. Not my circus, not my clowns … I’m good and my health (Everywhere is great).”
After divorcing Foster, the “U Got It Bad” singer married Grace Miguel in 2015, and they are still together. For how long, we’ll see.
