Justin Bieber’s private parts seem to be everywhere lately. This week, a hacker posted a racy photo of the singer on his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez’s Instagram account, and now, his testicles are hanging in the middle of a Long Island wrongful termination lawsuit.
Page Six reported that back in May, the “Sorry” singer visited Northwell Health on Long Island to have his testicles examined after a freak soccer injury. Bieber reportedly thought his left testicle had been twisted, and he was worried.
Luckily, Bieber’s junk was okay, and he was able to continue his days as a pop star, bedding models, and other beauties. The same happy ending couldn’t be said for one hospital staffer, who ended up fired because of The Biebs’ ball visit.
Staffer Kelly Lombardo was working the day Bieber was admitted into the emergency room, and the dispatcher allegedly heard rumors that Bieber visited her workplace because he was suffering from an STD. Curious to know the details, she allegedly accessed his medical file even though she wasn’t working on his case–a big no, no in the medical world. Lombardo was fired for her curiosity in June, and she filed a wrongful termination lawsuit.
In this case, the hospital’s best defense would be to prove Lombardo did improperly access Bieber’s medical records. Hospitals are heavily regulated for privacy, and they have strict rules on to who can access what. Any staffer who looks at records without professional purposes are often fired, and sometimes, the medical facility is even fined for their indiscretions.
For instance, in December 2016, several staffers were fired from UCLA Medical Center for accessing Kanye West’s medical records. In 2013, West’s wife Kim Kardashian piqued the curiosity of staffers at another Los Angeles hospital, and they too were fired for improperly accessing her medical records. In 2009, almost two dozen hospital workers including doctors were reprimanded for accessing “Octomom” Nadya Suleman’s medical records, and her hospital Kaiser Permanente was fined $250,000 for failing to protect her privacy.
Lombardo’s attorney David H. Rosenberg told Page Six, that this particular case had to deal with sexism, not improper professional conduct because Lombardo had never accessed Bieber’s file.
“My client never accessed Mr. Bieber’s medical file,” Lombardo’s attorney, David H. Rosenberg, told Page Six on Tuesday. “She was falsely accused of doing so on account of her gender.”
Lombardo’s attorney told Billboard that the staffer of ten years had been accused of peeping Bieber’s private records and that when she denied the charges, the hospital implied that her being a young female would make her interested in the sexy male pop star. And it was this sentiment that got them slapped with the discrimination lawsuit.
Lombardo is suing Optum360 and Northwell Health for gender discrimination and wrongful termination, according to People.
Rosenberg told Billboard that they were “looking forward to vigorously prosecuting” their discrimination case, which sounds like it could be a real ball buster.
