Herpes Lawsuit: Woman Suing Usher for $20 Million Steps Forward

RadarOnline discovered the identity of the “Jane Doe” who filed a lawsuit for $20 million against Usher, and her name is Laura Helm. According to The Daily Mail, Helm is a jazz singer from New Orleans. (See photo obtained by TMZ below.)

Helm said that she and Usher had been friends for years before they began a sexual relationship earlier in 2017. She had first sued Usher for $10 million for herpes exposure but she upped the damages to $20 million when she discovered she had the disease.

Helm said she sued Usher under the name “Jane Doe” to protect her privacy but that she had come forward because Usher had tried to stall the case.

In her lawsuit, Helm described two sexual encounters that occurred earlier this year–one in Atlanta on April 16 and one in New Orleans on April 28. In the documents obtained by Radar, the plaintiff got sexually graphic, describing oral sex and how the two went skin-to-skin after he put on a condom.

“Although Defendant brought and wore a condom during intercourse relations on April 16, 2017, in Georgia he did not produce or wear a condom during intercourse relations with Plaintiff on April 28, 2017,” Helm’s court papers said.

Helm said that Usher brought and put on a condom but that he removed it so that she could perform oral sex on him. She said that before he was to orgasm he would run into the bathroom to do it so that she couldn’t see.

Helm also said that Usher obsessively showered before and after sex.

Helm said that she did not have herpes before her encounter with Usher, but sometime after having sex with him, “an unusual bump appeared on the inside” of her cheek and another bump appeared on her vagina.

RadarOnline broke the news of how Usher had paid another woman $1.1 million after allegedly infecting her, and Helm said that when she read the story, she knew that she was also in danger.

The first woman had been with Usher in 2009 or 2010 and she said that Usher had told her that he was disease-free, even though she had noticed green discharge come out of his penis.

Usher has already responded to Helm’s lawsuit. He said that there is no proof that he gave her herpes and asked that the case be dismissed.

According to Lisa Bloom, who is representing others suing Usher for herpes, people with STDs who do not tell their partners about their status before sex are committing a crime.
