Summary: A teenage boy from Ohio was caught almost a year later having sex with the family dog again.
A teenage boy in Warren can’t seem to stay away from his family’s wiener dog. The boy admitted to police to having sex with the dog again. He already got in trouble almost exactly a year ago for doing the exact same thing.
The 17-year-old was found naked in a bed with the dog at his family’s home on Homewood Avenue SE. His family members contacted Trumbull County Children Services when they found him. The boy already spends half his time with Children services and the rest of the time with his family.
The boy was charged when he was 16-years-old of animal cruelty because of his sexual contact with the dog. The bestiality laws in Warren have changed since he was charged the first time. Now the boy faces two misdemeanor counts of bestiality and animal cruelty.
Trumbull County Children Services held an extensive interview with the boy, where he confessed to having sex with the dog in July and again in September. He is now being held at the Juvenile Detention Center for violating his probation.
Pee Wee, the wiener dog, has been taken to a veterinarian to be examined. There is a concern that the dog may have sustained injuries during the encounter. Detective Nick Carney said, “The dog is currently with the Animal Welfare League, checking for any injuries because from what the suspect stated, each time he would have sexual intercourse with the dog, it would be for an hour or more.”
Carney continued, “My concern with the interview is if he would do this to an animal, what would [he] do to a small child? So this case is not open and shut. There is some follow-up work I have to do that I can’t really talk about right now.”
Depending on the results of the veterinarian’s exam of Pee Wee. If it turns out the dog is seriously injured, the charges against the boy may be adjusted.
Apparently, the city of Warren has had a problem with bestiality, so much so that the city was forced to pass a city ordinance banning animal-human sexual interaction. The state did not have a related law at that time. The city finally moved to enact the law when another Warren man was charged with bestiality. Salvador Rendon admitted to having sex with two dogs several times during a period of over five years.
City counselor John Brown was the one to push the law to be passed. He said, “I think it’s important that we protect the animals. I hope this never has to be used as legislation in the courts but if there is a problem with bestiality, this gives them a tool to correct the problem.” The ordinance passed unanimously.
The first person to be charged in Warren under the new local law was a woman, Amber Finley. She was charged in May 2017 with bestiality, spending 63 days in jail. She had been caught by the authorities because her sexual acts on a dog were recorded. She claimed someone drugged her drink at a party and that she had no recollection of what happened.
