Summary: A man visited a 7-11 store where he was attacked by another customer for the way he walks with everything caught on video.

One of Pennsylvania’s biggest jerks could benefit from being locked up for a long time in prison where he can get a taste of his own medicine. Twenty-nine-year-old Barry Baker is seen in a video strolling up to another convenience store customer and punching him in the face.

The entire incident was recorded very clearly on a 7-Eleven surveillance camera, making the identification of the perpetrator easy for the police. The victim can be seen driving up to the 7-Eleven in a white Jeep as the suspect and a friend exited the store. When the victim exits his car, the other men hold the door open while the victim walks into the store with a visible limp. While the victim is in the store, the suspect can be seen on the video mimicking the way the victim walked. The victim eventually exits the store and walks back to his car. The suspect engages the victim in conversation before throwing a mean punch that nailed the victim on the side of the head. There was no indication that things were going to turn violent so the victim had no reason to try and block the punch or defend himself.

Baker, of West Chester, pleaded guilty to punching the victim, who happens to have cerebral palsy. He was charged with assault and disorderly for the unprovoked attack at 2:30 in the morning on May 10. This is not the first time Baker has gotten in trouble with the law. His rap sheet includes convictions for forgery, conspiracy, theft, and receiving stolen property.

He was originally released on $25,000 bond but when the fact that he was arrested again, a judge decided that Baker had broken his probation terms from a previous theft conviction. Instead of turning himself back into police, he ran. The authorities suspect that his fiancée was a big part of his efforts to elude the police.

The United States Marshals Office deputies eventually found Baker hiding in the bathroom of his hotel room. Once he was in custody, a search of his phone was conducted, which revealed searches for “how do cops ping a cell phone” and “how to change my personal name.” He had also looked up Greyhound and Amtrak schedules to places in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Additional charges have been added to his troubles, including flight to avoid apprehension. This charge is a misdemeanor. He pled guilty to this charge as well and will be sentenced at the end of November. He faces up to two years in prison each for the assault and flight charges. The disorderly conduct charge is a maximum of 90 days behind bars.

Let’s hope the judge decides that Baker is a danger and give him the maximum of 4 years and 90 days in prison.
