A former portfolio manager for an investment fund is accused in a $27 million lawsuit of sexually beating women in a Manhattan penthouse he rented. The New York Post reports that Howie Rubin, 62, who was a portfolio manager for an investment fund founded by billionaire George Soros, allegedly abused at least three women in a room he transformed in the penthouse into a dungeon.
The three defendants filed the $27 million Brooklyn federal lawsuit with the help of civil lawyer John Balestriere against the 62-year-old, whose high-stakes trades has been featured in two best-selling books. Rubin was renting the $8 million luxurious Metropolitan Tower penthouse in Midtown to meet women for rough sex. He would pay the women between $2,000 and $5,000 per session.
Of the two unidentified plaintiffs, two are Playboy Playmates. They claim that Rubin, a married father, would take them to a side room in the penthouse that had been outfitted with ropes, chains, sex toys, and other BDSM equipment. There he would rape and beat them so severely they would require medical attention, according to the court papers.
The women claim they were gagged, tied up and viciously attacked, one even states she was punched in the head. In one of the assaults, he told the woman, “I’m going to rape you like I rape my daughter.”
In another session, he beat the woman so badly in the breasts that “her right implant flipped.” The lawsuit explains that the woman was given $20,000 to fix the damage to her breast.
One plaintiff claims she was tied up, gagged and then shocked with a cattle prod in the groin. Rubin then raped her, according to the papers.
With the help of two female fixers and a lawyer, Rubin had the women sign non-disclosure agreements. His “helpers” tried to “cover up Rubin’s sexual misconduct and criminal abuse of women and to serve as a cover for his wide-ranging human trafficking scheme,” Balestriere said.
One of the women’s attorneys, Jeremy Saland, added, “While arrogance and self-import may convince certain men otherwise, neither money nor power gives any person the right to victimize a woman.”
According to his profile on MSHopeForACure, which has since been removed, he received his MBA from Harvard in 1982. The profile also noted he enjoys Texas Hold ‘em Poker, yoga, swimming, and Soul Cycle, according to Fox News. He worked with Soros Fund Management from 2008 to 2015.
