Kelly has had a rough year. He has been accused of being the leader of a sex cult, of being an abusive boyfriend, of being a marriage wrecker, and more. Now he is being accused in a new lawsuit of ruining a deputy sheriff’s marriage.

The Mississippi sheriff deputy Kenny Bryant sued the R&B singer, alleging that Kelly had an affair with his wife and ruined his life. Bryant’s wife, Asia Childress, has a relationship with Kelly before she married Bryant but apparently their relationship continued after the two were married in 2012.

Bryant claims that just months after the two were married, Kelly worked his way back into Childress’s life. The lawsuit explains that Childress attended Kelly’s concert in October 2012. The concert rekindled their relationship, which went to last for five years. Bryant believes Kelly gave his wife chlamydia during their affair.

Eventually, Childress persuade Bryant to move to Georgia, where she could supposedly be closer to Kelly. Bryant agreed to the move but was unable to find work, leaving them financially broken. Childress soon after asked for a divorce, thus leading to Bryant’s claims that Kelly ruined his life.

Bryant argues that Kelly deprived him of “a spouse, love, support, and conjugal affection.” He claims that he has since suffered from emotional, psychological, and financial loss. Kelly admits that he knows Childress but not to having a sexual relationship with her.

Kelly is fighting to have the case thrown out, partially on the basis that Bryant is a hypocrite. Kelly’s legal team investigated Bryant and discovered that the deputy had several adulterous relationships over the course of his marriage to Childress. Kelly even claims to have evidence to support that accusation – evidence that Bryant fathered a child outside of his marriage. Kelly also states that Bryant’s coworkers have complained about Bryant’s behavior to them, coming on to them when he was married.

Kelly’s legal team also accuses that Bryant used his job as a law enforcement officer to aide his agenda. They are seeking Bryant’s phone records to further support their claims. They say Bryant has tried to use the legal system to extort Kelly and harass him.

Kelly’s sexual indiscretions began a long time ago. While Kelly claims he has changed his ways, the accusations keep showing up but he seems to get lucky and escape getting in trouble for the indiscretions. In 1994, Kelly married singer Aaliyah when she was just 15. Kelly was 27 at the time. They claimed she was 18 on the marriage certificate. The marriage was annulled the same year. Two years later in 1996, Kelly was accused of engaging in group sex with minors. A 15-year-old, Tiffany Hawkins, sued Kelly for engaging “in inappropriate sexual contact with (her), including but not limited to engaging in group sexual intercourse with (her) and other minors.” She was seeking $10 million in damages. They settled in 1998 for $250,000.

In 2000, the Chicago police sex crimes unit opened an investigation into Kelly two times but were unable to get witnesses to come forward. The Sun-Times received a sex tape a year later of Kelly and a woman, who the anonymous person claimed was an underage woman. The police were unable to identify who the woman was. That same year, a former Epic records intern sued Kelly for sexual harassment. The intern, Tracy Sampson, claimed she “was coerced into receiving oral sex from a girl I did not want to have sex with.” She was 17 at the time. She was seeking $50,000. The case settled for an unknown amount.

More sex tapes surfaced in 2002 and lawsuits involving underage girls. He ends up being indicted on 21 child pornography charges in Illinois. He is charged a year later in Florida on 12 more counts of child pornography. The Florida charges are dropped and so are seven of the counts from Illinois.

A court hearing in 2005 confirmed that one of the girls in a sex tape was 14 at the time. However, prosecutors were not able to determine the exact date of the video so the judge throws it out. In 2008, Kelly is found not guilty by a jury because the videos were not clear enough to determine identities.

The recent cult allegations state that Kelly was “dictating what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep, and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records.” The “six women live in properties rented by Kelly in Chicago and the Atlanta suburbs…”
