Summary: Kim Kardashian wants the lawsuit filed by Blac Chyna against her to be dropped.
The Kardashian klan is fighting back against Blac Chyna’s lawsuit. Kim Kardashian, her brother Rob Kardashian, and her mother Kris Jenner responded to Chyna’s lawsuit on December 21 and asked that it be dropped.
Chyna sued the Kardashians, claiming they had used their influence to get her E! reality show, Rob & Chyna canceled. Rob & Chyna followed Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s unconventional relationship, but it hit a snag when the couple publicly fought and broke up. Insiders said that was the reason for the show’s cancellation, but Chyna believes that the show could have carried on.
Chyna initially sued the entire Kardashian family, including Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, but she eventually dropped most of the defendants. Now the remaining ones have responded, according to Us Weekly, and they said that they are prepared to fight Chyna in court.
Rob, Kim, and Jenner said in their response that Chyna filed a restraining order against Rob, which made it impossible to film their show.
“Plaintiff asked the Court to issue an order prohibiting Rob from contacting her ‘either directly or indirectly, in any way’ and requiring Rob to stay away from Plaintiff, her home and workplace,” the documents obtained by Us Weekly stated. “Given Plaintiff’s conduct in seeking and obtaining a restraining order that required Rob to stay away from Plaintiff and her workplace, no trier of fact could possibly find that it was reasonably probable that a second season of Rob & Chyna would have been picked up and filmed.”
Chyna and Rob met in an unconventional way before they began a relationship in 2016–Chyna was the baby’s mama of Rob’s sister Kylie Jenner’s now ex-boyfriend Tyga. The two started dating in January and by the end of the year, Chyna gave birth to their son, Dream. However, the couple’s union failed, and in July 2017, Rob had a public meltdown and posted nude media of Chyna as he accused her of cheating.
In Chyna’s lawsuit, she also claimed that Rob had shoved her to the ground in front of her other son, King. Rob responded in legal documents that Chyna had punched him in the face.
Chyna’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, told Us Weekly that Chyna wanted to fight for her rights and that the show was a hit that could’ve had a season 2 without Kardashian interference.
“We recently filed an amended complaint to narrow the issues and parties in the case, which is about slut-shaming, revenge porn, and killing Chyna’s show after she broke up with Rob,” Bloom said. “We will continue to aggressively fight for Chyna’s rights as the case proceeds.”
Jenner and Kim will present their case on January 18 to get Chyna’s lawsuit dismissed.
