Summary: Farrah Abraham is suing Viacom for allegedly firing her for becoming a porn star.

Former “Teen Mom” star Farrah Abraham is suing Viacom for $5 million. The reality and adult star said that MTV’s parent company fired her from their hit reality show because she worked in porn, according to Cosmopolitan.

“I am here to make a change for the LGBT and female community at large, and I’m proud I stay true to my identity as a business entrepreneur, reality star, and single mother,” Abraham said. “I am a businesswoman and female celebrity leader who will not be shamed or discriminated against by Viacom, MTV, [or] my peers.”

Abraham was one of the original cast members of MTV’s “Teen Mom” and she later went on to star in their “Teen Mom OG” version, which revisited that cast. The shows focused on her life as a teen mom, and it skyrocketed her to fame. Abraham then used her stardom to parlay into a lucrative career in porn.

After the original “Teen Mom,” Abraham appeared in hardcore sex videos with porn star James Deen in 2013 and 2014, and since then, she has partnered with sex toy companies to make toys and has appeared at strip clubs.

Abraham said that she had been fired from “Teen Moms OG” because of her racy career, and she said that she experienced inconvenience, emotional and mental suffering. She also claimed that MTV owed her money from her contract.

Last month, Abraham publicly said she was “moving on” from the MTV franchise, but her lawsuit indicates that the statement was just to save face.

Abraham is suing for wrongful termination and gender discrimination. She said that an MTV honcho had “sex-shamed” her, and she told TMZ that Viacom should be nervous about her lawsuit and that a lot of celebrities have sex tapes so firing her for doing the same is grossly unfair.

Examples of other celebrities who have had sex tapes released include Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Blac Chyna.

Abraham’s civil lawsuit names the following as defendants: executive Morgan J. Freeman, production companies New Remote Productions Inc. and Eleventh Street Productions Inc., and Viacom.

Abraham specifically named Freeman because he allegedly “harassed, humiliated, discriminated against, disrespected, ridiculed, degraded, and sex shamed” her for doing porn. According to Cosmopolitan, she included footage of the executive telling her she’d be cut from “Teen Mom” if she chose to work in the adult industry.

Abraham said that Freeman created a hostile work environment for her, and she is seeking $5 million in damages.

In response to the lawsuit, Viacom stated, “We respect Farrah’s decision to pursue other endeavors and we wish her the best. Regarding her suit, the claims are without merit.”
