Summary: An attorney wanted in connection for the attempted murder of an elderly couple in California was picked up by the Idaho State police.
Baldwin Park police had been looking for a California attorney as a suspect in the attempted murder of an elderly couple. They don’t have to look any longer as Idaho State police found Paul Mendoza Allen in Idaho not even 24-hours after the shooting, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Baldwin Park police Lt. Melissa Stehly said that the Idaho State police pulled over Allen, 34, and his wife outside of Jerome, Idaho. The Baldwin Park police had entered the license plates of any vehicles associated with Allen.
Allen was wanted by the police in the shooting of a couple from Baldwin Park who were once his clients. Lt. Chris Kuberry said that the couple and Allen had a dispute. The shooting happened Tuesday and Allen was picked up Wednesday at 11:36 am. A report of shots fired was called into the police, when they arrived they found the couple, a woman in her eighties and a man in his seventies, shot multiple times inside their home. They are listed in critical condition.
At this time, the motive for the shooting is believed to be money.
The Baldwin Park police are working with Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to get the Allen’s extradited to California.
According to Avvo, Allen has his own law office in Glendale, California.
