Summary: The attorney representing Stormy Daniels said that numerous women have contacted him about potentially suing President Donald Trump.
This week, Stormy Daniels’ lawyer revealed that some women who accused President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct have contacted him about possible representation. According to CNN, the attorney did not name names, but he said that there were “several” women who showed interest.
This year, adult film actress, Stormy Daniels, entered the mainstream consciousness when it was revealed in January that she had accepted $130,000 from Trump’s camp to remain silent about the affair she had with him early in his marriage with his current wife, Melania Trump.
In response to the backlash, Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, said that it was he and he alone who had paid off Daniels, and this prompted Daniels to go public that the non-disclosure agreement she had signed was no longer valid.
This month, Daniels sued Trump for the right to share her affair story, and she said that she would pay back the money.
Cohen said that Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti, was being reckless with his client.
“I believe Mr. Avenatti’s actions and behavior has been both reckless and imprudent as it opens Ms. Clifford to substantial monetary liability, which I intend to pursue,” Cohen said to the Washington Post earlier this month.
Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, is an adult film star who met Trump at a golf tournament in 2006. In a 2011 interview with In Touch that was not published until this year, the porn actress said the two had sex that night and had an affair for almost a year.
Donald Trump has been accused by at least 15 women of sexual harassment or misconduct, but he has denied the charges.
According to CNN, “At least 15 women have come forward with a wide range of accusations against Trump, ranging from sexual harassment and sexual assault to lewd behavior around women. Of the women, 13 say Trump attacked them directly and two others say they witnessed behavior that made them uncomfortable. All the alleged incidents took place prior to his assuming the presidency.”
CNN said that it is unclear if the women who have already come forward have contacted Avenatti or if there are other women who have so far remained silent.
