Summary: A San Antonio attorney known for handling DWI cases will need to get his own DWI charge taken care of.
A San Antonio criminal defense attorney was arrested Saturday morning for driving while intoxicated. Jesse Hernandez, who calls himself “DWI Jesse” on Twitter, faces a charge of driving while intoxicated, according to KSAT.
Police arrested the 29-year-old attorney early Saturday morning on the suspicion of DWI. A blood draw warrant indicates that he was arrested after rear-ending a car at a red light around 2:30 a.m. The San Antonio police officer who responded to the accident noticed that Hernandez had “bloodshot eyes,” slurred speech, was “unsteady on his feet,” and smelled of alcohol.
The DWI attorney admitted to the office to having had “two or three drinks” earlier that night at his law office, about 1 mile from the crash, according to the crash. The warrant noted that Hernandez was cooperative and polite during questioning of the crash but was “hesitant” during the field sobriety test. Hernandez was not sure what the time was of the accident, telling the police officer he thought it was 11 p.m. or 12 a.m. when he was arrested.
Later when he was leaving the Bexar County Magistrate’s office Saturday evening, KSAT 12’s reporter Dillon Collier tried to ask Hernandez about his arrest. Instead, Hernandez ran away from Collier and the photographer.
