Summary: A new restraining order was issued against troubled singer Chris Brown.
On Wednesday, a woman only identified as Cassandra was given a temporary protective order against Chris Brown. According to Oxygen, the woman said that he had stalked and hit her.
“He follows me and he stalks me,” Cassandra stated in her court documents. “He’s hitting me.”
The woman said that Brown, 29, hit her at a party and that he had stalked her on multiple occasions. He has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from her and refrain from contacting her.
Brown is represented by Mark Geragos who told Page Six that Brown does not know Cassandra.
“This is sad because it’s obviously the disjointed ranting of someone Chris doesn’t know who has mental health issues,” Geragos said. “This just creates celebrity meet and greets with deranged fans, and perhaps the Court may want to engage their Mental Health Department.”
The recent restraining order is not the only legal problem that Brown is facing or has faced. Last month, a lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles that accused Brown of providing illegal drugs at his home. He also has a restraining order against him from his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, who said that he beat her.
Geragos said that Brown is an easy “target.” The popular singer’s violent tendencies were first exposed in 2009 after he was arrested for beating up his then-girlfriend Rihanna after the Grammy awards. He pleaded guilty and served five years of probation.
Brown spoke about his abusive relationship with Rihanna in a 2017 documentary, and he said that he felt like a “monster.”
“There was always a point where we’d talk about it like, ‘What the f—k are we doing?’” Brown said. “Like, ‘I don’t like you slapping me.’ If I go on stage I got a scratch on my face and I gotta explain it like, ‘Oh, no I fell.’ If you got a scar or a bruise you gotta put makeup on. I’m not ever trying to put my hands on any female … I felt like a f—king monster.”
After the Grammy incident with Rihanna, Brown was accused by multiple people, including an ex-manager, of assault.
Brown released his first album with Jive Records in 2005, and he has had a successful career with hits such as “With You” and “No Air.” However, his talent has been overshadowed by his legal problems.
A hearing is scheduled for the restraining order matter for July 3.
