Summary: This weekend, Heather Locklear was arrested for attacking a police officer and an EMT.
TV star Heather Locklear was arrested on Sunday. The troubled beauty reportedly punched a cop after police arrived on the scene. Someone had called 911, worried about her safety.
TMZ said that a family member called 911 while Locklear was “heavily intoxicated.” Emergency respondents arrived, and Locklear punched an officer and kicked an EMT who had put her on a gurney.
Locklear, who starred on hit TV shows such as Melrose Place, Dynasty, and more, was taken to a hospital. She was then transported to jail, where she was booked on two counts of misdemeanor battery.
Locklear was released on $20,000 bail on Monday morning, according to TMZ.
This is not Locklear’s only recent problem with alcohol and violence. Last week, someone called 911 to her home because they worried the actress was “suicidal” and “violent.” TMZ said that she had tried to choke her mom and attack her dad. She was given a psychological evaluation and allowed to return home.
“At that location, we contacted a person who had medical needs, and they were treated by the Ventura County Fire Department, and they were later transported to a local hospital,” Captain Garo Kuredjian of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said to PEOPLE. “There was no criminal activity. The person was not arrested.”
Earlier this year, Locklear was arrested for battering another office as well as suspicion of domestic battery. Police later searched her home for a firearm that was registered in her name.
Captain Kuredjian told PEOPLE that during her arrest in February, she threatened to shoot the officers who arrested her.
In April, Locklear’s lawyers Blair Berk and William Haney pled not guilty to the battery charges on her behalf. The domestic abuse charge was dropped by her boyfriend.
Locklear has a history of substance abuse and depression. In 2008, a doctor had reported her as suicidal. In March of this year, she had checked herself into rehab.
Locklear is expected to appear at a hearing on August 23.
A spokesperson for the police department told Fox News that Locklear had not injured the officer she had assaulted.
“The responding deputy believed it was necessary to separate her from the others,” the spokesperson said “In the process of trying to separate her, she battered the deputy…There was no injury to the deputy. That action caused her to get arrested.”
