Summary: Stormy Daniels was arrested for allegedly pushing patrons’ faces into her buxom at an Ohio strip club.Â
Stormy Daniels was arrested while performing at an Ohio strip club, and her attorney Michael Avenatti said that she was targeted for political reasons, according to CNN.
Daniels is in the process of suing President Donald Trump and his personal attorney Michael Cohen. In 2016, she signed a non-disclosure in exchange for $160,000, and she said that her NDA was void because it was brokered by Cohen and not signed by Trump.
Daniels had been trying to sell her story of having an affair with Trump in 2006, and Cohen had paid her to stop her from talking. However, after the deal became public, Cohen said that Trump was not involved with the NDA exchange, and Daniels sued both of them to break the contract. She also sued them for defamation after they said she had not had an affair with the president.
Since news of the NDA broke, Daniels has parlayed her explosion of attention into a successful strip club tour. This week, she performed at an Ohio club, and she allegedly touched three undercover detectives who arrested her for violating state law.
Daniels’ attorney tweeted that the charges were dismissed. The porn star faced three misdemeanor counts of illegally touching a patron. She was released a few hours after her arrest on $6,054 bail.
Ohio police said that vice was working on stopping prostitution and human trafficking, and Avenatti lambasted them, saying that Daniels touched the men in a non-sexual manner while on stage. In Ohio, it is illegal for a nude or seminude employee to touch patrons in a strip club, unless the patron is a family member.
“They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities,” Avenatti said.
Avenatti claimed that the Columbus Police Department was motivated by politics in arresting Daniels, but the police said that they have made numerous arrests since last fall once they were made aware of this type of activity.
In the police report, detectives said that Daniels removed her top at the Sirens Gentlemen’s Club and then forced patrons’ faces into her chest. They said Daniels also touched the breasts of female patrons.
Daniels was scheduled to perform Thursday evening, but Avenatti said that performance has now been canceled.
