Summary: One woman became outraged when her spouse came home without any doughnuts instead of picking a suitable option when the store was out of her favorite kind.

Is it wrong to assume that your significant other will know you well enough to buy something that you would like? One Indiana woman grew angry because her husband did not know what her second favorite kind of doughnut was.

Michelle Nelson, 37, stabbed her husband Timothy with a grill fork because he came home without doughnuts when the store didn’t have her favorite kind. Timothy left their residence to “get doughnuts for his wife” last Friday morning from a store in New Albany. The problem was the store “did not have the type she normally gets.” Timothy decided to just return home empty handed.

His wife did not find his choice favorable and grew upset that he “did not know what else she liked after being together for several years.” An argument ensued over secondary doughnut choices. Timothy eventually grew tired of the fight and tried to leave but she blocked the door. A scuffle broke out and “Michelle lunged back at him and she had a grill fork in her hand. The grill fork stuck in Timothy’s chest.”

He pulled the fork from his chest and fled the house with her running after him and still yelling. Police soon arrived to find Timothy resting against a tree, “applying pressure to the puncture wound on his right chest.” His clothing was soaked with blood. They transported him by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Michelle was charged with a felony charge of aggravated battery. She is held on $75,000 bond in the Floyd County jail. It is unknown what her second choice of doughnut would be.
