Inmate Throws Coffee on Fellow Inmate

Summary: A Florida inmate named Coffee used hot coffee as his weapon against a fellow inmate that was “annoying” him.

Hi, my name is Coffee, Andrew Coffee. While the name might sound cool, the person that owns the name is not so much. Andrew Coffee, 53, is a career criminal serving time in a Florida jail.  He decided to use his namesake as the source of an attack on another inmate.

Coffee was charged with and admitted to throwing hot coffee on the fellow inmate, Chauncey Jones. Coffee denies then punching the 21-year-old inmate in the head after which Jones claims happened. Coffee justified dousing the man with coffee as being a better option than “beating his a**.”

The reason for the attack? Coffee stated to investigators that he was “getting annoyed by Jones because he is much younger.” Jones is 32 years younger than Coffee.

The extensive rap sheet for Coffee includes a conviction for attempted murder for which he served 11 years in state prison. He is now behind bars at the Vero Beach jail. He is being held without bond after being arrested last year for attempting to murder a sheriff’s deputy.

During the alleged incident, Coffee was pulled over for a traffic stop. He then punched Deputy Christopher Lester in the face and then shot him in the leg. Lester’s dashboard camera recorded the entire event. Lester was able to shoot back at Coffee, hitting him in the legs and torso.

This latest coffee throwing incident carries a misdemeanor charge – something that is just a dent in the problems Coffee has.
