Summary: An agreement between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt regarding their children has been made while the couple continues forward in their divorce.
As divorce proceedings continue, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have come to agreement on their own regarding the future custody of their six children. The actors will share legal custody but the kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8, will remain with Jolie while Pitt will have visitation rights.
Jolie’s rep released a statement saying, “We can confirm that childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides over a week ago. In accordance with this agreement, the six children will stay in their mother’s custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. We are not in a position to discuss the details. We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family and ask for your consideration during this difficult time.â€

Jolie filed for divorce on September 19 with a separation date of September 15, the day after an incident occurred on a private plane returning from Nice, France to their home in California. The couple had been together for 12 years, married for two.

The incident on the plane is being investigated because there may been abuse involved. A brief recording of the incident in question shows Pitt drunk and verbally confrontational with Jolie. The eldest son stepped in to defend his mother. Physical abuse is not believed to have occurred.

The children have been with Jolie since they split in September in a rental house in Los Angeles. Pitt had filed for joint legal and physical custody on Friday so the agreement comes as a surprise to some. There is a possibility that changes to the custody agreement will come after the investigation is closed.
A source close to the case said, “Brad just wants the level of visitation and amount of custody a parent would have in a normal situation.â€
