Summary: A Florida bank customer forgot to take out their little baggie of cocaine when they deposited their cash into the ATM.
A Florida bank received quite the surprise with their cash deposit. An ATM customer supposedly forgot a bag of cocaine in their cash deposit. Investigators are now trying to determine the identity of the customer.
The cocaine was discovered when a technician was working on the Suncoast Credit Union Branch ATM that had gone out of service earlier in the month. The worker discovered that the “deposit mechanism was jammed,†according to the police report. The technician worked to unjam the mechanism, only to find “a small clear baggie containing a white powdery substance.â€
The technician told police that he believes the last person to use the ATM for a cash deposit was likely the one that caused the jam in the machine. Police have the name on the bank account of the last deposit made at the ATM before being placed out of service. The report states, “At this time it is unknown if the substance came from the last cash deposit or prior deposits.â€
The test on the powdery substance came back positive for cocaine. It has been “placed into property and evidence.â€
