In a shocking turn of events, a staff member at one of the leading Biglaw firms in California, Morrison & Foerster, has been accused of attempting to engage in sexual contact with a minor. The arrest of Micael Barnum, a legal secretary at the firm’s Los Angeles office, occurred on January 28th, following a sting operation conducted by the Creep Catching Unit (CC Unit), a vigilante group.

According to reports, the CC Unit used a social media account to lure Barnum to Alhambra, California, to set up an alleged sexual encounter with an underage boy. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that Barnum was charged with a felony, specifically for contacting a minor to commit a crime involving the minor. He was released from custody on Sunday after posting bail.

In response to the arrest, Morrison & Foerster released a statement indicating that they know the situation and that Barnum has been placed on administrative leave from the firm pending further review. The statement also mentioned that, to the firm’s knowledge, the reports do not pertain to workplace-related conduct.
