James M. Nelson, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Sacramento office, has been appointed Co-Chair of the Welfare Plans Subcommittee for the American Bar Association Labor Section’s Employee Benefits Committee. In the role, Nelson will be responsible for co-managing the Employee Benefits Committee treatise chapter on health and welfare plans and managing the committee’s presentation on welfare plans at the annual Midwinter Meeting.
Nelson is office chair of the firm’s labor and employment practice in Sacramento. He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, and will be inducted as an elected Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in November 2010. He is also an editor of the Employee Benefits Committee Newsletter for the ABA’s Labor and Employment Section, and author of “Health and Welfare Benefit Plans: A Legal Guide to Planning and Management.”
