London-based firm Kennedy’s is opening an office in Miami, which will be the firm’s first in the U.S. According to a report in City A.M., the firm is slated to open the office at the beginning of next month.
Kennedy’s will not practice U.S. law, but instead will use the office to service its Latin American and Caribbean clients. Kennedy’s, which specializes in the insurance/reinsurance dispute resolution field, told City A.M. it chose the Miami location because it serves as an underwriting and claims hub for the region.
Alex Guillamot, a partner currently based in Madrid, will lead the office. He will be joined by one associate and a paralegal.
Kennedy’s has nine offices in the U.K and additional offices in Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
