White & Case LLP promoted 35 attorneys from around the world to its partnership, the U.S.-based firm said in a press release Wednesday.
Nine of the new partners are based in North America, including five in New York. The new Empire State partners are Douglas P. Baumstein, Donald C. Dowling Jr., Stefan M. Mentzer, Charles J. Pesant and Carolyn J. Vardi.
The firm also promoted Richard J. Burke and Jane Plomley of Washington D.C., Richard B. Furey of Miami, and Sean Goldstein of Mexico City, who is also qualified to practice in New York.
The firm also added 23 partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including seven in London, and three partners in Asia.
The promotions will become effective Jan. 1, 2011. White & Case also said in addition to the newly-elected class, the firm added a total of 59 new partners since the start of the year.

White & Case has lawyers in 36 offices in 25 countries.
