A Missouri woman, Brandi Catherall, was awarded more than $500000 in damages because her employer, a local credit union, had fired her in order to discredit her. She had filed a breach of privacy complaint against her employer because financial information from her husband’s account had been disclosed by another employee of the credit union. Another employee testified that she had not fully completed the investigation that led to the firing.
