In a history of sorts, at least one million people left watching Lifetime and changed to other channels when “Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp” went on air. The lead-in show “Dance Moms” was being watched by 1.8 million viewers, out of whom more than one million abruptly changed channel when Bristol Palin’s show came on the TV. According to TVByTheNumbers, Palin’s show had only 726,000 total visitors left from the 1.8 million viewers of the preceding show “Dance Moms.”

Bristol Palin’s show “Life’s A Tripp” follows the life of Bristol Palin as she returns to Alaska from Los Angeles and readjusts to her life as a single mom with support from her parents. Her show was in the news recently for lawsuits. One lawsuit was filed by a heckler confronted by Palin in the premiere episode. The heckler has filed for defamation and that Lifetime did not obtain his permission to show him on TV.

Also, Bristol Palin’s fellow contestant from “Dancing With the Stars,” Kyle Massey, has filed a lawsuit over the reality show. Apparently, Massey and his brother were slated to appear in a Bio reality series about Palin’s life in Los Angeles. That show was stopped when “Life’s a Tripp” was created. Massey and his brother and mother allege that they had developed the show and helped the production company and its head David McKenzie to produce the originally planned series. The Massey family claims copyright infringement, breach of contract and unfair competition.
