A six-year veteran of the New York Police Department, Gilberto Valle, has been accused of planning to abduct and cook women. He would record the birth date, bra size, weight and height of his female targets. He would also makes notes about rope and chloroform. He saved all of the information in a document called “Abducting and Cooking.” Valle was arrested on Wednesday after the FBI uncovered multiple plots of kidnap, rape, cooking and eating women.

“I was thinking of tying her body onto some kind of apparatus,” Valle wrote to a co-conspirator. “Cook her over a low heat, keep her alive as long as possible.” Valle told the co-conspirator that his oven was “Big enough to fit one of these girls if I folded their legs.”

The estranged wife of Valle contacted the FBI to let them know that he kept disturbing items on his computer. A criminal complaint says that Valle worked in the 26th Precinct in Manhattan and that he never actually committed any of the plans he laid out in his documents.

Julia L. Gatto, Valle’s lawyer, said, “At worst, this is someone who has sexual fantasies. There is no actual crossing the line from fantasy to reality.”

Hadassa Waxman, a prosecutor, said that Valle talked with three co-conspirators about committing a crime and used a police cruiser in one instance to conduct surveillance of a woman. He approached the woman using an ‘intimidating fashion.’ Valle was ordered to be held without bail on federal kidnapping conspiracy charges by Magistrate Judge Henry B. Pitman.

Evidence against Valle includes instant messages and emails in which he was “discussing plans to kidnap, rape, torture, kill, cook and eat body parts of a number of women.” Investigators found “files pertaining to at least 100 women,” according to the complaint when his computer was searched. A couple of the women were Valle’s high school classmates.

“The F.B.I. has identified and interviewed 10 of these women, each of whom has confirmed to the F.B.I. that Valle is known to her,” the complaint said.

Valle offered to kidnap a woman back in February for an unidentified person for a price. He said, “$5,000 and she is all yours.” It seemed as though Valle though the person he was talking to wanted to rape the woman. “She will be alive,” he wrote. “I think I would rather not get involved in the rape. You paid for her. She is all yours, and I don’t want to be tempted the next time I abduct a girl.”
