Pelham, Alabama City Council members have approved a one-year contract tonight for professional legal services to assist city leaders with finding and obtaining state and federal grant money.
Members unanimously approved an agreement with law firm Bradley Arant Rose & White, which recently became Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, for $7,000 a month.
Council members want professional help applying for projects through President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus plan. They will also use the law firm’s expertise to find out about other state and federal grants for city projects.
Council members believe the law firm’s experience assisting other cities with securing grants from Montgomery and Washington, DC, may also save money on projects and improvements.
Bradley Arant will also represent the four county schools in the city limits of Pelham and help obtain school improvement grants.
