Last week, Wilson Elser bagged its 24th U.S. office by joining forces with Milwaukee law firm Leib & Katt LLC. In a press release made last Friday, Wilson Elser chairman, Daniel J. McMahon said, “This is an exciting time for both Wilson Elser and Leib & Katt … We would like to welcome Leib & Katt’s attorneys, staff and clients to the Wilson Elser family, and trust that they will enjoy the continuation of boutique style service with the benefits of a national platform.”
From January 1, 2013, Leib & Katt would start working under the moniker of Wilson Elser with Mr. Katt being the regional managing partner of the Milwaukee office. Leib & Katt, founded by Samuel J. Leib and William J. Katt is known as one of the best litigation experts in Wisconsin. Both the founding members have received the legal industry’s highest peer review rating the AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbel.
McMahon further said, “Opening this office in the burgeoning Milwaukee market with accomplished attorneys, who are culturally and professionally aligned with Wilson Elser will benefit all of our clients from day one … We are thrilled to have the attorneys and staff at Leib & Katt on board and know that they will add to our industry footprint in Wisconsin, the Chicago Metro Region and the country.”
Both Leib and Katt have national reputations as outstanding litigators and for their expertise in complex litigation including fields like medical malpractice and aviation law. Their law firm would add 11 lawyers and 13 support staff to Wilson Elser, which currently has around 800 lawyers.
