Five attorneys have joined various practice groups of Los Angeles’ 150-lawyer Buchalter Nemer .
Steven M. Spector, former counsel to Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro, is joining the firm’s insolvency and financial solutions practice group as a shareholder. Anthony Napolitano of Chicago’s Mayer Brown also joins as an associate.
Melissa Mac Pherson, a former contract attorney at Bayat & Associates, and Samy Sadighi, a former associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, have joined the bank & finance practice group.
Alex Angarita, ex of O’Melveny & Myers, has joined the business practices group.
All came from Los Angeles offices.
“We’re hiring to meet the need,” said Rick Cowen, president of Buchalter Nemer. “And we’ve had a tremendous need.”
Buchalter Nemer ended its 2008 fiscal year with a record $99.2 million in revenues, an increase of $8 million from last year.
Earlier this month, Buchalter Nemer added another shareholder, Michael Meeks, and two associates, Carol Dwyer and Becky Hsiao, to its Irvine, California shop.
