George Clooney is newly single. The 52 year old star split up from his girlfriend of two years, 33 year old Stacy Keibler. According to a confidential source close to the couple, the split was due to Keibler’s desire to have children, and Clooney’s disinterest in starting a family. Another report from a source who knew the couple well told the Huffington Post that busy schedules and long distance relationship tensions were the split’s cause.
When Stacy Keibler tweeted, “trying times are not the times to stop trying,” a famous quote by Ray Owen, fans wondered if there was a hint of foresight in Keibler’s tweet regarding the future of her relationship with silver fox George Clooney.
They couple have been spending a lot of time apart, as George Clooney filmed his upcoming movie “Monuments Men” in Germany, according to the Huffington Post. An insider told People Magazine, “they haven’t seen each other in a while and they’ve both been working so much, so in recent months, they’ve started growing apart.”
The couple was apart for this Fourth of July weekend’s celebration. George Clooney enjoyed the holiday at his Italian villa on Lake Como and Stacy Keibler was with her girlfriends at a Los Angeles bash thrown by top Hollywood manager Guy Oseary.
A source told the Huffington Post that Clooney and Keibler are still close friends despite their breakup. “They were friends before they started dating and they’ll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup].” The silver fox is back on the prowl ladies.
