54 year old Vernett Bader is accused of stabbing her boyfriend. Vader lived with her beau in North Charleston, South Carolina. This past Monday the two were together in the evening at their home, the man refused to stop listening to his favorite band, The Eagles. The 64 year old boyfriend told Vernett to ‘shut up,’ and continued to ignore Vernett’s plea to turn off the music, according to the Huffington Post.
Bater then grabbed a bread knife and started “swinging” it at her ex-boyfriend. He commented to the authorities that he had managed to get the knife away from her, but that she had went to the kitchen and had got another. At this time the victim went into the bathroom and locked himself in there for safety.
Bader admitted to the police that she did stab her ex-beau, but that it was for self-defense. She told them he had choked her. Investigators at the time saw no red marks or any physically suggestions that Bader had been chocked, and so did not believe her story.
Currently Vernett Bader is at the Charleston County Jail, and will be seen in court shortly. The anger over which song is playing apparently has the power to cause some violence. A Colorado woman allegedly choked her boyfriend after he had sung a Macklemore song 25 times.
