It’s not the first time a McDonald’s customer has apparently become enraged. Last year, two Tennessee men returned to a McDonald’s after throwing back some beers and hurled bricks at the establishment. At the time, the men admitted to police that they were upset because McDonald’s had “messed up” their cheeseburgers. And we all remember the 1994 McDonald’s coffee case that left plaintiff Stella Liebeck scalded.
Le Parisien reports, near Paris around 2 a.m. Sunday, a French man allegedly pulled an ax on an unsuspecting McDonald’s drive-thru attendant after he was served cold fries. According to local reports, He then threw the ax inside the fast-food restaurant and drove off. The 26-year-old reportedly became angry after staff at the drive-thru in the Paris-area Garges-lès-Gonesse district shrugged off his complaint.
The Daily News reported that, exiting his Renault Master van, he allegedly grabbed the bladed weapon and aimed it straight at the outside counter, horrified late-night customers, smashing it onto the side several times, and that he also shattered the window.
The suspect was treated for a deep, bleeding hand wound, patched up by paramedics and taken away for questioning. The 35-year-old McDonald’s employee who had the unfortunate luck to be working the drive-thru counter at the time of the incident, suffered cuts to the face from fragments of the shattered glass window, but was not hospitalized, according to Le Parisien. Mcdonald’s customers apparently take their french fries very seriously. We all know they’re better piping hot, but if yours aren’t, it’s best to just keep your cool.
