According to the various political polls, President Barack Obama is not too popular these days. Even though the polls say this, his demeanor and outlook said something else on Tuesday night during the State of the Union.
“America does not stand still and neither will I,” he said, according to The Huffington Post.
In rare instances, Obama went after the GOP, but made sure the attacks were on issues that lacked ideological depth.
Obama made it clear that he wants Congress to increase the minimum wage across the board and extend long-term unemployment benefits. Obama went all-in during his first term in office, which is what helped him earn re-election to the White House. But, last year was not kind to Obama.
He had to deal with the failed debut of Obamacare, Congressional issues and spying allegations.

It seems as though the operating policy for the White House in 2014 includes ignoring Congress, be reasonable and purposeful, and put their hopes in the economy’s turnaround to help them get off a sinking ship.
One senior official from Obama’s administration spoke with the Huffington Post prior to the speech. That official, who wanted to remain anonymous, said, “We had a terrible fall. We had the NSA and the budget confrontations and the botched rollout of the health care website. What we need to do now is put one foot in front of the other and move forward, and let a stronger economy get us back on track.”
