The world’s richest teenager, Justin Bieber surrendered to police in Toronto on Wednesday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Bieber was engulfed in a media circus in downtown Toronto, when the Canadian pop star turned himself in to authorities.

The charges are from an incident that happened on December 29, 2013. Toronto police stated that in late December they were looking into allegations that someone in Justin Bieber’s entourage assaulted a limo driver who was transporting the Canadian pop star and several other people. Police have reported that at the time it was not clear whether Justin Bieber was involved with the alleged assault on a limo driver. On the same day a petition to have him deported back to Canada topped 100,000 signatures, Justin Bieber turned himself in.

Justin Bieber, who is 19, is facing an assault charge. The pop star’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, told the Associated Press that he expected any assault charge against his client to be treated as a low-level offense. According to Business Insider, Canadian police charged the young pop star, Justin Bieber, with the December assault of a limousine driver, shortly after the 19-year-old had turned himself in to police.
