Alex Rodriguez, who was born in New York City, according to the New York Daily News, is the highest-paid athlete in the history of professional sports. A-Rod reportedly owes millions of dollars in legal bills to lawyers and private investigators. It has been reported that Rodriguez has paid some of the people who worked on his behalf. Alex Rodriguez accumulated about $4 million in legal and investigative fees in a legal battle with Major League Baseball, a source reported to the Daily News.
Joseph Tacopina, one of A-Rod’s lead attorneys has reported to the news he has had no trouble collecting from the athelete. He said that “I have absolutely no fee dispute whatsoever with Alex,†and according to the NY Daily News, Tacopina stated, “He has been entirely fair and responsible with respect to the payment of my fees.†Alex Rodriguez also allegedly owes money to Guidepost Solutions, a private investigation firm that worked for him last year. A spokeswoman for Guidepost said the firm had no comment.
Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the entire 2014 season by arbitrator Fredric Horowitz, who reduced the New York Yankees third baseman’s ban from 211 games to 162 for his involvement in Major League Baseball’s Biogenesis scandal.
Alex Rodriguez is millions in the red, owing the private investigators and lawyers for battling a season long doping suspension. According to the Daily News, a source familiar with the case said,A-Rod hasn’t paid millions of dollars in legal bills, he’s paid some but he still owes the lawyers and private investigators, who have repeatedly attempted to collect, $4 million in legal and investigative fees. Rodriguez has claimed that he plans on rejoining the Yankees for the 2015 season after his doping suspension is completed. He’s hoping to reunite with MLB after fighting them in 2013, because he claims he hopes to work as a broadcaster or even become an owner once his career is over.

The source said Rodriguez will be unwelcome in ballparks from Seattle to Miami if he does not pay up because his attorneys and private investigators will take him to court for the money and show how and why Rodriguez pursued his scalding legal strategy against MLB. If he resists paying, he will pay anyway and he will suffer,” the source said. “If he forces people to prove he owes them money, the issues that he discussed with his attorneys will be made public, and Alex doesn’t want people telling the truth. Rodriguez was also investigated for interfering with MLB’s investigation by purchasing documents and other evidence in order to keep them away from baseball’s investigators and he is accused of leaking to the media names of other athletes involved with Biogenesis. MLB suspended Rodriguez for 211 games for multiple violations of baseball’s drug agreement and labor contract.
