The law firm of Brown Rudnick LLP announced via a press release that it has added Justin S. Weddle to its New York office as a partner. Weddle will work in the white collar defense and government investigations group.

Weddle comes to the firm after serving as the Deputy Chief Appellate Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. He has 12 years of experience prosecuting white collar crime as the Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York.

Weddle spent two years serving as the Resident Legal Advisor in Bucharest, Romania for the U.S. Department of Justice.

Weddle also spent time in the litigation department of Debevoise & Plimpton.

Mark Touhey is the co-chair of the firm’s white collar defense and government investigations group. Touhey said, “Justin brings to Brown Rudnick sophisticated trial and appellate experience in the area of complex business crimes, and from the very significant venue of the Southern District of New York. Moreover, he has extensive experience working with high level officials at the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the IRS. Members of the defense bar that have worked with Justin — either as fellow prosecutors or adversaries — know he has the judgment and skills to deftly handle the most complex fraud cases.”
