The law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl announced via a press release today that it has added five lawyers to its office in Chicago. Three partners and one associate join the firm from Thompson Coburn LLP. The remaining associate came from a smaller law firm.
Robert Lucas rejoins Dinsmore from Thompson Coburn.
“I’ve admired Dinsmore’s commitment to growth and the way they serve their clients. When they walked me through the benefits of leading the Chicago office, it was an easy move,” said Lucas. “This is also a homecoming for me. I began my career as an associate with Dinsmore and learned a lot during my time there. Not many people are afforded the opportunity to return to their career starting point as a leader.”
Lucas will serve as the managing partner of the office in Chicago. He comes back to the firm with former Thompson Coburn partners Timothy L. Binetti and Michael C. Jurasek. Associate Brittany E. Kirk will also join the firm. Nicole H. Daniel comes to the firm from Larson & Associates.
“We have assembled an outstanding group of attorneys in our Chicago office, and I’m pleased to welcome them to firm,” said George H. Vincent, Dinsmore’s Managing Partner and Chairman.
Lucas explained that “We will certainly keep a focus on growth and will continue to build relationships with our peers. I’m confident that smart opportunities will present themselves. It’s finding attorneys who have an entrepreneurial spirit and who are looking to build something. That’s the Dinsmore way, and I plan to continue that here.”
Lucas will operate in the Corporate Department of the practice. His focus will be on mergers, acquisitions, securities offerings, divestitures and secured lending transactions. He will also handle general corporate issues. Lucas earned his law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University.
