Madonna showed up for jury duty on Monday morning after dodging her last appearance on May 27 with a doctor’s note, according to The New York Daily News.

Madonna was let go from her civic duty after an hour and a half. She showed up 30 minutes late for her scheduled 10 a.m. arrival time, which is actually one hour later than regular prospective jurors are supposed to report.

“I’m proud to do my job,” she said, but she would not answer questions about receiving any special treatment.

Madonna, upon her arrival, was taken to the first-floor clerk’s office instead of the jury assembly room, which is where all jurors are usually taken. She was not questioned for a panel either.

According to an official from the court, Madonna was let go early due to her presence causing a distraction.

“We had ample jurors today and had we needed her, she would have been sent out on a panel,” said New York State Unified Court System spokesman David Bookstaver. “We had sufficient jurors not to have created a further distraction for the courthouse. She got credit for her service and we’re delighted she came.”

For her brief appearance, Madonna will not have to serve jury duty for the next six years in New York.
