Summary: Hughes Hubbard has taken on two new partners with excellent credentials in IP Law.
Hughes Hubbard has announced the latest steps they’ve taken to bolster their intellectual property department, bring on two new partners, James W. Dabney and Stephen S. Rabinowitz, who hold a lot of swagger in the IP field with stellar credentials.
“Jim and Stephen have an exceptional track record in patent litigation,” said Candice K. Beinecke, Chair of Hughes Hubbard, as the firm reported. “Their experience will be of great value to our clients. We are delighted to welcome Jim and Stephen to Hughes Hubbard.”
Jim and Stephen have a lot in common and a lot of experience together. They both hail from Harvard, with Dabney receiving his A.B., magna cum laude, from there, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School, and Rabinowitz receiving his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law school.
Further, they both have earned their D. Phil. in Immunology from the University of Oxford.

Beyond this, they’ve even partnered together at Pennie & Edmonds LLP and then both moving on to Fried, Frank, before finally ending up at Hughes Hubbard.
Dabney served as head of Fried’s Intellectual Property and Technology Practice, and aside from that works as adjunct professor at Cornell. He has first-chaired countless patent jury trials and won in the U.S. Supreme Court three times, notably in KSR International Co. v. Teleflex Inc.
Rabinowitz meanwhile has put his M.D. to use, and his immunology degree to practice in such cases as concern DNA technology, medical diagnostics, and various other areas of medicine.
