All of us have been to stressful interviews. In the interview below, Nathan Fielder shows up at a “reputable law firm” properly composed and wearing a nice dark suit. His hair is peppered with distinguished gray. But there’s one more thing: every word he says is being fed to him by a seven-year-old named Amir (whose favorite color is orange).
From the first question, the interview is literally laugh out loud funny. For example: the interviewer asks Nathan, “What kind of experience do you have in this field?”
The seven-year-old responds with, “What that means?”
“What that means?” Nathan repeats, perfectly poised, as if he’s saying something articulate. The interviewer looks at Nathan in disbelief.
“Legal experience,” she says.
“Can we not do that question?” the seven-year-old says.

When Nathan repeats it, the woman interviewing him blinks a few times.
“Ok,” she says, and moves on.
Another great moment: the interviewer asks Nathan, “Do you know how to file documents in the courts?”
Through Nathan, the seven-year-old responds: “Do you like skateboarding?”
Perhaps the best thing about this video is that, no matter how fazed the woman interviewing him looks, Nathan’s face is beaming with confidence. Throughout the interview, he unfailingly looks like he’s thinking, “Yeah, I got this, this is going so well.”
At the end, keeping up the confident act, he asks his interviewer, “I know that was a mock interview, but if that was a real job – would you have hired me based on what you saw?”
“No,” she responds.
“But maybe?”
“No.”
Hopefully you’ve never had an interview this bad. But, either way, you should watch this video – it’s totally hilarious.
